By Khloe

My name is Khloe and I am a mid content wolfdog. We are known for having resource guarding issues if not worked on from a young age, just as some other dogs could have as well. When mom adopted me at 11 weeks old I would resource guard my toys and food.

Mom would show me that she wasn't trying to take my high value items away and over time I trusted other people not to as well.

  1. She would trade toys with me which got me used to having her hands on my things.
  2. Mom would also sit by my food bowl and pet me to show me she wasn't going to take away my food.
  3. I would also get hand fed raw meat while she petted me.
After all that work I no longer have a resource guarding agenda!
Dog parents should know that fixing resource guarding doesn't happen over night. This is a process that can take many months and should be started at a young age.
